“Black In Focus” Black British Film Nights
“Black In Focus” puts Black British Film centre-stage. There’s just one rule for the films we show: no black trauma. It’s described as a refreshing change to the negative black storylines that big cinema loves to show. We’ve built up quite a following of cinema-goers, film lovers, and individuals who are tired of the black narratives of slavery, gang crime and struggle that dominate mainstream cinema.
Previous films have included Real, Rye Lane, Gone Too Far! and The Story of Lover’s Rock.

This social event is for film lovers who want a great night out with a good film, good company and good vibes.
Oh and FYI, Black British is the genre of the film, not the entry requirement (we have been asked)! All over 18s welcome.
Our next film night:
Date: October 2025 – Details coming soon

Black Stories Screenings
Our black stories screening is a showcase of authenticblack stories, told by the individuals themselves through mobile video. Previously held twice a year, now annually in October for Black History Month, we share videos that learners made during our Mobile Storytelling course – on the big screen! Real people, real stories.
