Struggling to raise awareness of your project or cause? Not quite sure how to tell your community or organisation’s story?
Our media survey of black people living in Southampton revealed that local media’s portrayal of black people made them feel “annoyed and frustrated”, “like black people aren’t important”, “unheard”, “under-represented and invisible”, “sad, misunderstood and stereotyped”. To address this, we created our Black Community Coverage Clinic, to amplify the city’s black voices by empowering our communities to tell and share their own stories.
Free consultancy service
Our Black Community Coverage Clinic is a free ‘drop-in’ that provides marketing, communications, promotion and media tips, training, consultancy and support to Southampton’s black community organisation leaders and representatives.
We’ll help you find creative ways to amplify your organisation and community’s positive voices and stories.
Sessions will run every Monday between 1pm – 4pm, between Monday 13th September to Monday 13th December 2021. Drop in once – or weekly if you like, we’re here to help! Booking required. Sessions can take place in our office, based at MAST Mayflower Studios in the City Centre, or on Zoom.
