What’s On: Black History Month 2020

Black History Month has been celebrated in Southampton for more than a decade. This year, because of the pandemic, most events have been moved online.

Here’s the link to the city’s Black History Month magazine. It is packed full of articles, including one about Our Version Media. There are also details of what’s happening locally throughout the month. For real-time updates, join the Black History Month South Facebook group.

Plus, the following organisations are running their own BHM events. Here are the direct links to their BHM listings:

Our Version Media CIC “Ignored, Misunderstood, Depressed”: You Spoke, We Listened. On Wednesday 21st October from 6.30pm-7.30pm we reveal the results of our survey of black people living in Southampton. We’ll also talk about Our Version Media’s work, and our new services created to tackle issues raised in the survey, like our Black Community Coverage Clinic.
