Our Mobile Storytelling to Showcase Social Impact is our best-selling digital media skills training. Participants learn skills to film and edit impactful videos using their mobile phone. Based on the principles of mobile journalism, learning covers: what makes a good story, identifying the best shots to tell it, filming, editing, scripting, captions, voiceover and how to share online for a wide reach.

Veronica Gordon is a former TV news journalist and producer, with fifteen years’ broadcast journalism experience across radio, TV and digital media. She has combined this with her fifteen years’ experience of community activism to create this training programme.

Our Mobile Storytelling to Showcase Social Impact is delivered in two options:
Mobile Storytelling for Social Impact Masterclass This CPD accredited, 2½ hour masterclass is for up to eight people. Participants learn the skills to create, film and edit impactful videos using their mobile phone.
This masterclass is best for people who actively engage with their local communities, clients or service users and want to showcase this work, bring projects to life or evidence the social impact of their services. It is particularly popular with community engagement teams, marketing and communications teams, diversity and inclusion teams, social entrepreneurs, community organisers and community activists.
This Masterclass is delivered remotely via Zoom. There is a mix of learning and practical exercises.
Mobile Storytelling to Showcase Social Impact Workshop This two-part workshop is delivered in-house at MAST Mayflower Studios or at the booking organisation’s premises. Each workshop is 2½ hours. Session Two takes place one week after Session One, with participants confident to film and edit after the first session!
This training is popular with organisations – opting to buy the training for their local communities, clients or service users to up-skill them with digital media skills and make videos that authentically showcase the organisation’s work, projects and social impact of their services.
