An Our Version Media and MAST Mayflower Studios event for Black History Month

The theme of this year’s national Black History Month is “Saluting Our Sisters” so that’s the theme of our community stories screening.

This will be an evening showcasing the lives of phenomenal women from Southampton’s African, Caribbean and Black British communities. Their stories will be told through three-minute mobile videos created, filmed and edited by the women themselves.

Each has successfully completed Our Version Media’s Mobile Storytelling course and learned how to make story-rich videos on their mobile phone.

In a community stories screening first, alongside new videos, we’ll also replay videos from previous screenings – because they showcase the lives of amazing local women.

Join us for an evening of real stories, by real people.

The event starts with a drinks reception in the café bar from 6.30pm, before the screening at 7pm.
